Fight your doubt

Sitting and listening to gospel music. Heard Mary Mary’s “Go Get It”. The words inspire the listener to go after the blessings that have been prepared for them. “...can’t be mad at the things you’ve been through, they’ve built your muscle, now you’re stronger than you’ve ever been...your faith ain’t never small....Go get it, go get it, go get your blessing. It’s your time.....but if you wanna get what you never got, gotta do something that you’ve never done” (Note ... indicates portions of the song that were intentionally left out.)

What stops some us from believing? Fear? People? I double dog dare you to put that fear and others thoughts and words under your feet. I double dog dare you to believe The Risen Savior more than the world. I double dog dare you to trust God more than yourself. What’s stopping you from getting the blessings that God has for you...you!

We halt the blessings of God with our fear. What are we afraid of? Rejection? Succeeding? Then where is our belief? Don’t we as Christians realize that when we doubt ourselves, we doubt God’s authority, His plan for us? This means that we doubt God. We doubt His ways, we doubt His supremacy in our lives. When you hear the doubts, tell them how big your God is. When the thoughts enter your mind, cast down your imagination (II Corinthians 10:5) and speak God’s Word. Use the power of the tongue to speak the Word over your life. Fight your doubt with His Word.

Deu. 28:13 - The Lord will make you the head and not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

I Pet 2:9 - But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Romans 8:31-39 - 31What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:“For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
