Trusting God: Crazy Faith

"5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV)

This morning I woke from this beautiful dream. It was so real that I jumped up ready to take action on what God had showed me. Some may think that's crazy, and I agree with you but not in the manner in which you mean it. See in the past 7 days, I've been told twice that I need crazy faith. That's faith that those water walkers have. That's faith that truly beliefs that God will do what He says. Now, I know many of us believe, but for some, deep down in the crevices of our hearts, there is a smidge of doubt. Crazy faith doesn't have this smidge. Crazy faith says yep, I can walk on water and actually goes out and does so because God said so.

Trusting God enough that our faith takes root so deep there is no room for doubt is more of what we need in today's world. With all the hate, killings, diseases, suicides and all else that we see in this world, crazy faith knows that God is still in control. That faith says and believes that the King still sits on the throne and is still in control even with all the turmoil that we see with our natural eyes. When the scripture says "lean not on your own understanding" we have to understand that our natural eyes see one thing but when we learn to truly trust God, we'll start to see with a spiritual eye that opens our beliefs to the spiritual. This is the kingdom of God. It is the spiritual world that Apostle John saw when he was isolated on the island of Patmos as found in the book of Revelations. When we learn to trust God with our whole heart and being, God will open our eyes to what is really happening in the world.

Some may say I'm crazy, but I want to share this with you as an example of what I mean by the spiritual eye. I was on assignment in another state last year. I kept having this feeling that I needed to leave the area - as if it was a matter of life and death for me. My spirit felt the urgency. I called my home office and told them that I needed to leave. I was due to be in the area for 2 weeks and was on my third week. They had someone come and replace me as soon as was possible. During the timeframe that I was there, and this urgency began to rest in my spirit, I constantly saw this black dog wherever I went. It was an all-black border collie, a dog said to be highly intelligent, trainable, and good at herding animals and people. I was at work and the dog was there, I went to the grocery store and saw him there too. Some of you may say I'm crazy and that's alright but I trust and believe that this dog was sent as my spiritual protection. Growing up, that's why we had dogs, as another layer of protection for the home. So, I wasn't surprised when God sent a dog to me in the spirit to show me that a layer of protection was with me even in an area where my spirit could not rest. While my eyes saw no immediate danger, my spirit perceived such. I trust God enough to know that his angels are always with me. I trust Him enough to know that while the angels were keeping the demons at bay, the dog was there as my proof that I was protected.
