On the plane flying into Florida about a month ago, I opened the window to see that we had reached an altitude above the clouds. I thought of the perspective of those on the ground and how far away those clouds must feel. Yet here in this setting I felt as if I could reach out and touch those same fluffy clouds.
I thought on the word perspective and how we can torture ourselves based on how we look at our perspective in life. Once the Father has spoken to us, our outlook on life could be so much better if we believed. Let’s break this down a bit. I’m starting a new position within my company that requires training. Just days ahead of training, the thoughts in my head went to the “What If” scenarios. What if I fail at this? What if I mess something up? I stopped my train of thought and changed the narrative. What if I never do this and realize that I’m missing out on something wonderfully ordained for my life? What if I succeed? What if I allowed my fears to stop the blessings God has for me? With a renewed mind and spirit, my inner thoughts were flipped from the negative presumptions to the positive ability of the Lord.
So, what if you decided to listen to God and do what He says you can do? Do we really realize that we can be the reason why we aren’t blessed? That our allowance of fear can be the thing that is counteracting our praise. It is said, when the praises go up, the blessings come down. Although this isn’t specifically written in scripture, it is derived from Psalm 67:5-6. Know that the God you serve hears you. He knows you are in need so He answered your prayers according to His will. But, if you are going to worry then cease praying. Your worry is counterproductive.
Trust that God, the same God of Abraham, Ruth, Esther, Adam, Noah, David, Moses, Peter, Paul, Mary Magdalene and Matthew, hears you. He wants you to hear Him. So if He says you can, tell your fear what God says about you, that you are wonderfully made and He will guide you through. When He says you will, tell your doubt what your God has already manifested in heaven is going to be manifested in earth through you. Death lies in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Don’t speak death into the blessing that you’ve been praying for.
Be A Blessing and NOT Just Blessed
