John 3:30 (NIV) "He must become greater; I must become less.”
Some years ago, I had this picture on my desktop when a co-worker saw it and asked me "Girl, don't you know you don't pray for patience?" But she missed the prayer. Yes, the title did ask God to teach one how to be patient, but the rest of the prayer asks God to decrease thy flesh and increase Him in the reader.
People think praying for patience leads to trials and tribulations. While, that is possible don't they know that as a child of God, trials and tribulations are coming anyway? Do, why not get ahead of the game? Get out in front of the trial. Ask God for patience, strength, love, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding before the trial comes so you can endure it when it gets here.
