I was on a jewelry website recently and one of the necklaces I was interested in was labeled, The Journey is the Reward. I so loved the name. It made me think though of my journey. So often, we think that we are going through the motions of life. We miss that our journey really is a reward. The journey has a lot of ups and downs, trials and tribulations. When we focus most of our attention on the negative aspects, we miss the lessons.
I am on a job surrounded by men. I wouldn't be a woman if I didn't find at least one of them attractive. While the feeling was said to be mutual, I found that he was in a relationship with someone else. My feelings were hurt. The old me tried to re-surface and tell me that he didn't end up with me because I wasn't good enough. FORGET THAT NOISE!!!! Here's what I know. I'm good enough for the man that God has destined for me.
This journey has instilled in me that I have to love me. I have to support myself. I have to believe in me, my talents, my abilities. By believing in me, I believe in the God that created me. How did I get from point A to point B. Easy. God created me. If I can believe in the beautiful sunrise that He created, I can believe in the beautiful woman He created.
The journey can teach us numerous lessons. But, we have to be open to receive the lesson. Learn what you must so that you can continue on the right path.
