In church on Sunday, the spirit of the Living God was high. I mean past the roof high. At one point, my great nephew felt the spirit. This 4 year old began to dance in earnest what he felt in his spirit. It made me think ----- what if we as adults praised God as if no one was watching? What if we praised with this same Childlike Adoration?
That made me think, not only praise, but what if we did everything for God the way He designed with this same childlike adoration. Where we didn't care if people stared. Where we allowed ourselves to be free. Where we gave it all to Jesus like we didn't care what people said.
What if we did as David did - danced before the Lord with all our might. (2 Samuel 6:14) "14 Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the LORD with all his might". David didn't care who watched. His wife, Michal, watched from a window verse 16 goes on to say and despised him. David didn't care that his wife didn't join in on his celebrating. He danced, danced, danced. At that moment, nothing meant more to him than celebrating God. He didn't allow the stress of the day to interfere with his praise. Here was David, the king who put all thoughts, all stress to the back of his mind and went for all he knew. He gave it all he had. Here was a man that God called a man after His own heart (Acts 13:22). We all know that David had issues. That he messed up. But, he could take his issues and put them on the back burner and praise God.
So, what's holding you back? Financial issues? Spousal issues? Children issues? Health issues? David had all of these at some point in his life. Stop allowing excuses block your flow. Praise Him in good times and bad. Praise Him with pure adoration that knows no boundaries. Praise the Lord thy God with all your soul, all your heart, and all your might.
Be a Blessing and not Just Blessed.
