It began to storm hard the other night. I had this overwhelming need to go sit on my deck. As I sat there the song that bubbled up in my spirit was "Lord you are good and Your mercy endurth forever. Lord you are good and Your mercy endurth forever. People from every nation and tongue, from generation to generation; we worship You. Hallelujah, Hallelujah. We worship You for who who are. You are good all the time and all the time You are good."
Sometimes we go so deep in spirituality that we forget that we are spiritual beings living in a natural man. There are times when we quite literally have to sit out in or near the storm and still praise God for being God. (Disclaimer: I in no way encourage you to put yourself or your loved ones in a dangerous situation. Please be safe in all storms - spiritual and natural.).
This particular storm had massive rain, lightning and thunder. I came in at one point to grab my camera to take a picture of the rain. I heard the enemy say that I was running from the storm. Not today Satan. I wanted to document the wondrous works of the Lord as He took time to come and cleanse the air and the earth. This is what happens. We let the enemy or ourselves tell us what our intent is. Yet, we as disciples should be bold enough to say not today devil. Let me tell you who I serve. I praised God for the cleansing that He was doing with this storm. Cleaning the air so we could better breathe. Cleaning the land so we can walk better. Taking the time to come and see about us.
Praising Him during the natural storm can strength your flesh. It can be the mustard seed you plant to grow your faith. Be safe and praise Him in the rain and howling winds and thunder and lightning. Praise Him for what He’s doing even if you don’t see it because He’s up to something.
Be A Blessing and Not Just Blessed
