Affirmation Wednesday: Chosen, Royal, and Holy

The blogs this month will be affirmations for our souls designed to empower us a Christians. What is an affirmation? Affirmation can be defined as a statement or proposition that is declared to be true or the assertion that something exists or is true.

I Peter 2:9 (NIV) states “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light”.

Do you not understand that if you proclaim God as your Father then you belong to Him? Nothing and I do mean nothing can harm you. We go through trials and tests all the time. For some of us, we seem to wake up in battle. But trust and know that God is always there. What you feel is little compared to what He is blocking on your journey. You may feel the sting of the branch, but He has blocked the thump of the tree. Why? Simply because He loves you. His love knows no bounds. I tell people all the time that the God I serve doesn’t do my math. I’ll say A and get A-G. His addition is equivalent to our multiplication. Can you imagine then what his multiplication is? JESUS!!!!

Today’s affirmations …..

I am a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.

I Am Chosen - I am the person God created. I am gifted, intelligent, and special. My gifts and traits are like no other. God chose me to do something special according to the purpose He placed within me. I once lived in the same darkness that befell Egypt, but praises be to the God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow for lighting my path and showing me His way.

I Am Royal – I was created in the image of God. I am wonderfully made and shaped in the promises of tomorrow. My Father is King of everything. I am the King’s Daughter (or Son). I don’t fear the evil of today. Don’t you know, my Father has already cleared the path? What you see, maybe what you get, but with which eye are you looking out of? The natural eye may see disastrous times, but my spiritual eye stays trained on the movement of My Father. He is moving!

I Am Holy – I’m not one of these fake holy rollies acting dignified and righteous. I am righteous. I am set apart even while living in this world. Troubles come and troubles go, but me, I stand as a tree by the bank of the river, growing in His grace and mercy. Thank God for granting me access to His kingdom of forever more. Today, tomorrow, and always will I praise God who loves me for me.

I will praise His holy and righteous name with every breath until my last. I serve God not for what He does for me but for the love He bestows upon me.
