As I was sitting and reading my bible Sunday morning, God brought back to my memory a prophecy that was said to me in 2018. The woman of God said that I just needed to hold on. She saw the sun breaking through the clouds. It was about a month later that I lost my job. Many people would have said see, that was a false prophecy. Yet we forget His ways and thoughts are not the same as ours (Isaiah 55:8).
If someone releases a prophecy over your life, take the tome to discern what is being said. Don’t take for granted that 1. the person speaking is authentic because they hold a title within the church and/or 2. the prophecy means that wealth and/or fame are coming your way. Remember, many prophecies of old were warnings of wrong doings so that you would get back on track. God sent Jonah all the way to Nineveh to warn His people.
The aforementioned prophecy was true. My firing broke the clouds and darkness and brought out the sunshine into the career portion of my life. There were 3 difficult months where money was tight but I no longer had to go to a job where I wasn’t well received nor did I have to battle with the control demons that had manifested in that place.
Discernment in the natural sense is the ability to judge well. But biblically, we look to I John 4:1 (“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world”). Discern/Judge/Understand for yourself that which is of God and that which is not. The key to this is very simple...having a real relationship with God. I use the word real because many will go to church, sing praises unto Him but come home and keep on doing what they want, when they want, how they want. You cannot serve two masters (Matt 6:24). Either you serve God or Satan. That doesn’t mean we don’t continue to grow spiritually, emotionally, naturally. This servitude is based on your heart. For whom does your heartbeat? For whom do you live? For whom would you die? Serving God changes us from the inside out. The outward appearance reflects the inner change.
Discern what is spoken to you and over your life. If you feel it was a lie, cast it into the pit of hell then speak the Word over your life. I am more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ (Romans 8:37). I love what Joel Osteen says when he has people hold up their bible: “This is my bible. I am what it says I am. I can do what it says I can do.” I am speaking over my life in those first 3 sentences. I am telling my spirit man not whom I think I am but who I know God says I am.
Be A Blessing and Not Just Blessed
