Watching the World Series these past couple of nights, reminded me of my grandmother. Mama Ida Mae loved baseball. Growing up, I never understood her love for the game until I sat and watched the first game on Tuesday night. The battle between the Dodgers and Red Sox had me cheering on both teams. Normally, I don't like watching baseball on TV. And although I played softball growing up, for me, the game was boring to watch. That was until Game 1 on Tuesday night. What I watched was two teams representing two different organizations show off their natural abilities in an effort to be named champions.
My son recently said one man's trash is another man's treasure. Although I didn't see the value of watching the game before and couldn't understand my grandmothers love for it, I realized early on that Mama Ida Mae never worried what others thought. She loved the game with no apologies for doing so. What if we applied this same logic to our lives? What if we loved God with this same attitude? What if we did what He said when He said without worrying what people think? What if we worked His plan for our lives and answered the call that He has for us without a care in the world? Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord....". This scripture is so familiar. Yet, we quote it without breathing it, without living it. If we truly believe that God created us with a master plan in mind, then why not go back to the creator and ask for direction on this journey called life? Isaiah 64:8 "But now, O Lord, You are the Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; and all we are the work of Your hand". Take time and ask Him, the creator of you what your next move is. Be a Blessing and not just Blessed!!!
