Comparisons

I went from reading about the first fruits of Cain and Abel (Genesis 4) to seeing my Grandma Ida’s house. I’ve always thought my grandparents house was like my parents house. But sitting here looking back, the outsides look similar but the insides are different. The layouts are different. As with the first fruit offerings of Cain and Abel. I actually looked at the words (Genesis 4:3-4). Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil. Abel brought some of the first fruits. Cain had to know the edict of God. To give the first fruit. I’ve read articles and heard preachings that generalized that Cain dug through his offerings and gave what he thought was best. Genesis 4:6-7 could very well support their argument. If their argument is correct, that Cain offered what he thought was best, then aren’t we in trouble too? Here’s what I mean. When we accept God as our Savior, Lord, Master, Ruler then it’s over all mof our life not a portion of it. God commands us to BE His first fruit (Psalm 24:1). He created us thus all that we are to belong to Him. Our essence, our breath, our heartbeat, our mind, our body, our soul, everything belongs to Him. In Mark 12:17, he tells us to give to Rome what is Rome’s but give God what is God’s. We are God”s Property. Kirk Franklin got that all right. We are to give our bodies as a living sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1) as a true and proper worship. People running around here faking it until they make it. If you don’t feel it, don’t fake it or do it out of obedience to man. That’s disloyal to God.

A true worship is from the inner most part of you. It’s pure, holy, and costs you nothing. You don’t worry about how you worship, you don’t care you sees you. You don’t compare your worship to others and you sho’ don’t fake it. Giving God your all, your worship, your heart, mind, body, and soul isn’t about anyone but you and Him. Bring Him your first fruit. Bring Him your true worship. Bring Him all of you. Your resistance could have you thinking like Cain where you think you are doing the right thing but what you are really doing is being disobedient. Heed God’s words to Cain......(Genesis 4:7) “You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But, you must subdue it and be it’s master.”
